Dean Waters

CO-DIRECTOR

Dean is a junior and a Chinese Studies, Economics double major at William & Mary. Dean’s life for the past few years has been defined by an intense love of studying foreign languages, leading him to learn and acquire Mandarin Chinese and Russian at an advanced level. Besides organizing dorm events as a Resident Assistant and creating lesson plans as a Teaching Assistant for Chinese 102, he is an active member of Melodia, the Eastern European Instrument and Vocal Ensemble, where he alternates between playing trumpet and piano. Having had a classical education in piano, Dean’s main genre is now a jazzy boogie-woogie style of his own creation. As a discerning individual with a mind for planning, Dean enjoys his role as the co-leader of TEDxWilliamandMary, where he works to ensure the vitality of the function. Before he graduates college, Dean aspires to ride every elevator on campus, become fully fluent in Chinese, and to leave a positive mark on those around him.
